The Floating Calculator

This calculator works out the percentage of hands that you need your opponent to fold to break even, when you float the flop.

You can float when you are in position against a pre-flop raiser.  The way the move works is as follows. On the flop, Villain c-bets and Hero calls (This call is known as “Floating”. Don’t ask me why). On the turn, Villain Checks and Hero Bets. Villain Folds (Ideally).

It’s a 2 street move, where you call a bet on the flop and bet on the turn with the intention of getting villain to fold..

For instructions on how to use the calculator, scroll down the page.  Don’t use any symbols, such as “$” or “%”.

I give a hand example, where I use the Floating Calculator in my article entitled Ref Hand 3. Pocket Pair below Top Pair – Hero IP/Without the Lead/Dry Board vs Tight Villain You can also read an in depth article on when to bluff-raise on the flop and when to float on my website.
